What is the Pilates Method?

Pronounced ‘Pi-Lah-Teez’, the Pilates method is a unique system of strengthening and stretching exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900’s, utilising specialised equipment and mat exercises.

It is a full body-conditioning program that will improve flexibility, balance, coordination, increase total body strength, increase fitness, muscle tone and improve posture.

People of all shapes and sizes, regardless of age and fitness levels will benefit from Pilates. It is ideal for addressing musculoskeletal imbalances and for orthopaedic, sports or work injury rehabilitation.
